Dynamic Susceptibility Contrast (DSC) Perfusion

KIO Medical has developed a module that relies on the susceptibility induced signal loss on T2*-weighted sequences which results from a bolus of gadolinium-based contrast passing through a capillary bed.

The most commonly calculated parameters in this module are:

rCBV, rCBF, and MTT as dynamic susceptibility contrast-enhanced MR perfusion, still abbreviated to DSC.

Biomarker changes monitoring for response to treatment assessment

In DSC-perfusion MRI quantification tool, rCBV is a valuable imaging marker for distinguishing true progression from pseudoprogression. Increased rCBV as surrogate biomarker of active growing tumor could potentially reduce the necessity for biopsy and their associated risks, thereby simplifying the posttreatment evaluation process and decreasing the care cost.
